can you add a contact to your BB Messenger list without adding them to your address book?

Anyone want to tell me how to do it

Open BB Messenger... click the menu button... choose Add A Contact

Click [Use Once] the Request by Email or Request by PIN

hey, i tried the method above but i don't have the option to choose [request by pin]. [Use once] defaults to email and there is nothing in the menu to change it...menu options are
1. continue
2. show symbols
3. cancel
4. switch application
some help please....

before you click use once, scroll up to it and those are the options you are given? sounds like you already clicked it then hit menu
