Default Hey newbie in need of help...

Please Login to Remove!

... Hey everyone! I'm sure glad I found this board. I am completely new to the BlackBerry phones. I own a brand new BlackBerry Pearl that I got through my carrier (U.S. Cellular) and I have a few questions for yall.

First what are some really good free BlackBerry sites that I could use to get apps, ringtones, games, etc.

Second can a BlackBerry Pearl work correctly with a 8 GB card in it? I just bought the 4 GB one and I am just curious. As I would love to have a truely all in one multimedia portable machine!

Third is AOL messenger available for the phone and does the fact thats its a BlackBerry keep me from paying my carriers charge for the messangers? U.S. Cellular usually charges about 6 a month for AOL. JW

Thank you all for reading.

I look forward to contributing to this board myself.

Have a good one!

so in the future it would be possible to update to a 8 gb maybe? Another question I forgot was this, for the text message notifications can you make them customized for certain people in the phone book? Kinda like the ringtones only for messages.

the 8110, 8120, and 8130 all ship with 4.3. They have the new OS, well one version of it anyway.

My Pearl accepts 8GB cards? That's pretty good news. I think I'm gonna get one.

Over here you can get a SanDisk 8GB Micro SD card for 45, that's around 70$.

Word from RIM is that the Pearl/OS 4.3 will actually support up to 256 GB cards (they just don't exist yet).

A 12 GB card has been released (I think it's SanDisk?) but it's about $179 and I haven't heard anyone say they have it yet.
