Anyone else have the Pearl on the SERO plan? If so, do you have to pay the extra BB plan charge to get ANY e mail access? If I want to forward gmail, yahoo, AOL etc, can I do so without the BB plan?

Same goes for web browsing.

I cannot get a straight answer from Sprint so I thought maybe someone here would know....Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To get email you must have a BB Data Plan.

Following up on troy's response, you must have the blackberry data plan to get the native blackberry functions. Without it you will not get email pushed to the handheld. But if you have data service of some level that permits you to use opera mini, then you may be able to access email via wap access (for example yahoo). Hope that helps. Good luck!

Yes sorry like aiharkness stated you can use opera mini and then access via WebMail. I dislike that solution but it could save you money.

So to do the same basic functions as the Sprint Mogul (web browse, e mail which updated every 10 minutes) I need a BB plan?

Also, I dont even see an option to set up non Enterprise e mail accounts. Unless "enterprise" means any e mail so long as I use BB?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to play with this toy and I mastered Palm, Windows and the Iphone but so I want to get this to work as well.

Also, this is one of the options SPRINT offers. Anyone have experience with this? Its $30 additional. The full BB Plan is only $10 more. Thoughts?

Yes, you have to get the BB plan to receive email. I have the Sprint Sero Voice Only plan which is $30 and also have the Sprint Blackberry Power Vision pack for an additional $30.

I believe you cannot have the regular Sero plan with a blackberry plan. It has to be a SERO VOICE ONLY plan.

Yes... Sprint introduced this plan with the 8130 Pearl. If you don't need BES (connection to your corporate MSFT Exchange Email Server) this is definitely the way to go. Both text messages and Sprint Navigation (TeleNav) are FREE with this $30 plan... as well as the standard up to 10 POP3 email accounts.

Thanks all. I opted for the full BB plan, $39.99. Toying with it now. Seems to be good but that extra $$ might be a deal breaker.

You can not tether your BB to a PC with this plan.

I'm with Sprint and tether my 8130 all the time. Speed is fast and I don't even have to take my BB out of it's holster. (bluetooth)
