Default Received messages not updating on Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

We have a Blackberry Pearl that connects to a clients mailbox on their work network via OWA.
When a message arrives at their mailbox it arrives succsessfully on the blackberry.
When a message is read on the blackberry it is marked as having been opened when viewed in Outlook.
When a message is deleted on the blackberry it is deleted from Outlook.

The problems are:
1. if a message is deleted via outlook that has been sent to the blackberry it is not deleted from the blackberry.
2. If a message is read via outlook it is not updated on the blackberry as having been read.

The client is using Exchange 2003 & Outlook 2003 and is using the Telsta network.
Another client using a different carrier (Optus) and connecting via the same mechanism (OWA) to exchange mail box on a SBS-2003.server does not have this problem. Both sites are small and have a single user wanting blackberry integration so the BES would seem to be overkill.

TIA,

Andy

Wirelessly posted (8320 Curve: Mozilla/4.8 [en] (Windows NT 5.0; U) BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I have never used a BES before, but from my knowledge, I believe that is normal. The message is pulled from the mailbox via blackberry. The berry will update its server which updates the mailbox. I believe it is normal as the mailbox has no connection to the blackberry server. So reading it on outlook willnot update it on the berry. Sorry dude

Hi,
We are NOT using BES. We ARE getting the behaviour we expect using a different carrier at a different site. Agreed that the blackberry software is pulling the Data from the mailbox via Outlook Web Access but it would also appear to be checking messages previously pulled against the current contents of the mailbox in order to get the behaviour at the other site.

rgds,
Andy

When I read a message on my yahoo mail, it also marks the message read on my BB.
