Default Can I stop the automatic Bluetooth "Add Device"?

Please Login to Remove!

Every time I go to enable bluetooth, my BB asks me if I want to "Search for devices from here" or "allow another device to find me." I already did the pairing thing when I first got the BB. I just want to enable or disable my Bluetooth headset, period. I swear once I saw "don't ask me again" but I accidentally made that go away before I checked it...

I did go into Options and "Discoverable" is already checked to No.

Is your headset listed in the device list when you first go into your Bluetooth options? Try selecting the device, then hit your menu key and go to device options. Is "Trusted" set to yes?

In your general Bluetooth options, is "Connect On Power Up" set to Yes or No?

On my phone with "Trusted" set to yes on the headset options and "Connect On Power Up" set to no in the general Bluetooth options I don't get prompted to add a new device. I just hit the power switch on the actual headset and it connects right away and disconnects if I power the headset down.

If I disable and reenable Bluetooth from the BB menu it still doesn't prompt me ever. The only time I get the screen you describe is if I select Add New Device.

Hope this helps.

btw> does your nick reference the Firefly quote?

Talking

thanks, I'll try that.

...and yep, that's from Firefly. Watch me soar. Can't stop the signal. (Actually my all-time favorite quote is from Capt. Mal: "Your mouth is talking. Y'might want to look to that.") Heh.
