Verizon is telling me that Hotmail is no longer accessible on the Blackberry. I just spent hundreds of dollars on this phone and can't get my Hotmail address to take without an error message to call Hotmail. Verizon is saying this is something that has started in the last few weeks and I need to upgrade my Hotmail and pay for a Premium account with them. I can't find ANY link to upgrade...

My business email is a Hotmail address, changing it is not an option. Hope you can help.

You should be able to use Hotmail as long as its a premium account. I don't use Hotmail so I don't know where the "upgrade" link is.

It is/was a Microsoft decision to not allow newer Hotmail accounts to push to the BB. It is several years old, not recent. Some older Hotmail accounts will work, most all newer ones will not. There is not definite cut-off date of what accounts will or won't work.

You need Hotmail Plus. There is a link there somewhere.

Yep, all premium (hotmail plus) accounts will work fine.

Yeah I had to upgrade my wife's hotmail to premium to get hers to work. I hear yahoo has that issue also.

Incorrect. No issues with free Yahoo accounts on BB. Push is almost instant like GMail.

Regular Yahoo is fine.

It is Hotmail and MSN mail that Microsoft has limited.

There is really no true reason that some work and some don't. I have never been able to find an MS explanation. Some newer ones will work also but it s very rare. All in all, only some where grandfathered in, and they were older accounts.

Pay the 19 bucks and it will push without problem, just signed up myself.

hotmail is overloaded with spam anyway, i have it but i would never want all that stuff pushed to my device.

I keep seeing this topic come up. I do not have a premium account, nor POP access to my Hotmail... I just forward it to my blackberry.net address...

That works for me... any reason why I should not do that?

I guess the only drawback is that this setup is not 2-way, and I do have to clean the Hotmail inbox from time to time...

The only reason is that you're not able to delete from your hotmail mailbox when you delete from the device. You'll have to login occasionally just to delete and clean out your inbox.

My hotmail account will not forward to any address but msn.com, hotmail.com, or live.com. I am going to options and choosing to forward it. Are you doing something different?

I've had my hotmail acct. since i was in college (10 years ago) and I've had no problems. I couldn't dream of paying for an upgrade with all the junk mail filtered out on a daily basis.
It's unfortunate you are having problems. I guess older accts. have been grandfathered into this.

PS, I am able to delete from my "handheld" for my inbox without logging in.

I went into Options - Manage your accounts - Forward mail to another e-mail account - and just typed my ****@att.blackberry.net email. The address was verified, and since then it works flawlessly. There is even the option of leaving the original or not in the hotmail inbox.

I am using Windows Live Hotmail (if that makes any difference) with a @msn email address.

yeah i have had my hotmail and my live mail do this, but not all do, and I havent been able to figure out why. Gotta love MSFT.

I have tried it again too two different email addresses and I get this everytime.

What is a "custom domain"? I would think it is any domain except "yahoo, google, ect.."
Maybe I am just not seeing it. How long have you had your email. I have attempted this on a new address and one I have had w/hotmail.com for 6 years?

hotmail for 6 years you should be able to integrate it directly with BIS. have you tried doing this? BlackBerry Internet Service log in there and try and add hotmail.
