Default 8 or 16gb MicroSD HC P8130

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone tested the high capacity MicroSD cards on their 8130. I'm thinking about getting the 8gb MicroSD but I want to make sure it works before I drop $50 plus. I have a Sprint Pearl 8130 with V4.3.0.71

I noticed in a couple other threads there was a software issue.

Your thoughts.

The 16 GBs haven't even been released yet. They have however released the 12 GBs and I have yet to see a review of them on here. But the 8 GBs are without a doubt capable of being used with the on the pearls with the 4.3 operating systems. But the card does not show all of say, if you filled it up with music, does not show all of your music. The player on the BB cannot handle that many tracks and another thing that slows the player down is the fact that there is SO MUCH album art with each song. That kills it. But there are apps that you can download for the Pearl that will work just fine. I really wish someone would get a 12 GB card. I really want one but IDK what it would do to my Pearl.

If I hear/read right in other forum topics, as of yet pearls only support 4gb of any microSD card.. so for example, you put an 8gb... it'll only show 4gb of it as available to use.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong though

Hate to correct people but heres the link. And all 8130s have 4.3 OS I believe.

What Size of Memory Card?

And say if I got a 12 GB it would just make it seem to be an 8 GB? That would work for now...

Ok, so its 8gb. I wasn't far off lol
Mine only supports 4gb, so that's probably where I got that from, which is right for my phone ;)

But yes. If you put in a 12gb card, it will only show 8gb available

It may only recognize the first 8gb of the card.

latest OS on the 8120 and 8130 supports 12gb with no issues. I have 10gb worth of data on there and it recognizes it all. (its mostly data but alot of video/music as well)

Awesome. Know anywhere I could get a killer deal on one?

Where did you buy yours from? They are hard to find online.
