So, i can't decide whether or not to upgrade from my 8310 to the new 8120. I'm not sure that its worth the upgrade. What are your thoughts?

From what the BB website shows for specifications, the 8120 has WI-FI, but NOT GPS. I would hate to give up my GPS with voice directions and real-time updates. That was second reason I upgraded to the 8130. I think you can get a pretty accurate "GPS-like" service with Google based on Hot Spots, I read an article about it for the iPhone.

Also, I've never used the Curve with its larger screen and keyboard, and I don't know if there are OS benefits, but the main reason I bought the Pearl was that it fits nicely in my pant pocket. I would like a larger screen, but I don't like holsters and I don't carry bags. Less is more for me.

I also like using SureType, but I've seen a lot of complaints about it, so if you like your keyboard now and do a lot of typing, the smaller Pearl might not be for you.

So, unless you want smaller, I would stick with the 8310. I couldn't give up the GPS and I don't want to carry a GPS keychain. Maybe they'll come out with the Pearl 3 and offer both GPS and Wi-Fi.

welcome to the forums JNHohol. As for the 8120 its basically the 8320 in suretype form. It has the 4.3.0 OS though so you can stream audio/video over the web and record video. voice notes are also ehanced with capacity limited only by your media card. external media card slot and better flash as well.

That's only on TMobile and the OP has an 8310 on AT&T. The 8120 and 8820 on AT&T only do data over wifi.

With TMobile the 8320 (and soon the 8120) do voice/data over wifi.
