Default Gmail App synch issues

Please Login to Remove!

Have Pearl 8130 from VZW. Downloaded the gmail app. It got all my messages that I read. I then set about to send a test email from another account. At this point I had logged out from my gmail account via my laptop. 15 minutes passed and I still had not receiived a new email notification on my pearl.

is there a setting on poll time etc that i should set so that the emails are instantaneous?

Note that I have not set any POP3/IMAP settings on my gmail account using my laptop

You're better off setting up your Gmail through BlackBerry Internet Service page. Its much faster than using the downloadable Gmail application.

My wife has At&T curve through her work and she downloaded the gmail app. She didnt change any setting on her Gmail account using her computer, yet she is getting her email instantly in both her curve and her web inbox. It takes a while for my gmail app on my 8130 to display new messages, unless i do a refresh.

reason i did not go with the BIS was that the gmail app is pretty functional and it keeps the same look and feel.
