I need to purchase another wall charger for my 8130 Pearl to use at work.

What is the cheapest place to purchase one?

Should I definitely get an OEM charger or are there other ones out there that work just as well?

I would purchase one from your carrier that way if the port gets messed up they cant fuss about it.

I use the motorola chargers. They're compact for travelling.

I actually have a Motorola charger laying around what I used with my L7c.

I just tried it and it fits just fine.

I didn't realize it's safe to use that charger with the 8130.

I'm no electrician, and I have used an old Motorola charger with no apparent harm. But there is a technical difference. Blackberry uses an IC (intelligent chip) so that the battery isn't over charged...Motorola uses some kind of short circuitry mechanism and claims not to overcharge...I suspect that over time, the Motorola charger may cause shorter battery life, but I have been unable to find any data to prove that. All I know is that they don't use the intelligent chip, and something tells me Blackberry wouldn't bother with that if it wasn't better. You can find OEMs online for around $10. I think I got one from Elite Electronics but I can't find my receipt to figure out if it was via Amazon or Ebay. I just googled the model number of my OEM charger to find options.

What is the difference between the OEM wall charger and the OEM wall travel charger?

Does the travel charger not work as well?

I suspect travel is smaller. I don't think there is any other issue. I don't know if travel includes ability to use DC current in Europe. Best bet is go for the one that came with your BB unless you have some special needs.

I will most likely be ordering off eBay or something like that, but the travel charger is what everyone is selling.

The one that came with my blackberry does not have those folding blades.

I have a new 8130 from US Cellular and it came with folding blades. Model # PSM04A and when I googled that, I found a variety of sellers. I think I put in: Blackberry PSM04A OEM.

OH, it also says input: 100-240v so I assume it works in Europe, but of course CDMA phones don't!

Wow you're right. I just unplugged mine and realized it does have the folding blades and is the PSM04A model. I must have been thinking about a different phone. Thanks for the info!

I don't doubt this but I have been using Motorola chargers for several years with no adverse affects. I use them for travelling.

Lol.. I'm lazy, so I have my motorola charger plugged in by my computer for when my phone needs to charge.. and my BB one by my bed (where I usually am when it's charging)

I do that because if I'm on my computer, I'm too lazy to reach clear across my bed =)

I did also learn, that any USB cord for your computer (that fits of course) charges your phone as well =)
