Default Phone Slowing Down?

Please Login to Remove!

I've had my phone about 3 weeks now and it seems like its a lot slower opening and sending new text messages. There is like a one second of delay where i can't navigate when I hit the send button and the message starts sending and when I open a new text before it actually opens. Weird thing is I only have this problem with new messages, once it has been opened it reopens instantly every time.

What is the free memory on the device? Look in Options >Status.

Also, have you tried a different theme?

I was goin through the same thing. Far worse than just a 1 second delay though. Try 10-15 seconds between hitting 'Send' and it takiing me back to the Inbox. Weird thing was it was only to a specific person. Everybody else took normal times. Anyways, my phone decided to randomly delete ALL my texts I had, excpet for my saved. Don't know what happened but it's faster now ha.

And now every couple texts it keeps deleting all previous outgoing texts, and I dont get why. Anyone know?

what applications are running in the background when this happens? either go to the main screen and hit menu > switch application, or hold alt and tap the back key to cycle between apps.

Yeah I just went into Optons and realized it was 'Leaving Messages On Sim Card'. And it told me I was out of memory, so I switched it to 'No' and I think it's all good now..hopefully. Thanks.

I've noticed even if I have 35mb free (as I do at the moment) Once I getting over 1100 or so texts in my phone (as I have now) it starts responding a little slower in the sms menu... I don't know if it's a "normal" thing or not, but it's something I've gotten used to over time lol

1100 text messages is quite a bit lol. i get in excess 15k emails a month and routinely have 500-1000 on the device with minimal issues. what apps are running when you have this delay

me?
Absolutely nothing... Aside from the normal 5 that don't go away...

I usually delete my texts once they get to this point, just because it annoys me...
But seeing as I still have 35mb free on my phone, I don't see why it would slow it down at all? sometimes the lag is worse than at other times too, which just kind of makes me chuckle... it's not seconds of delay, so it's not a big deal.. but still

I figured out what was causing the problem. I had only been clearing prior messages in my inbox. Meanwhile my outbox was just filling up with thousands of messages. I deleted them and everything is back to normal.

you can also hold down "alt" and type in lglg and it will pull up your event log. hit the blackberry button and choose "clear log". that helps.

There's a setting in DM that you can change. The default is to delete messages when you synch it (it tells you that when you set the synch up).
