Ok, obviously we have to do battery pulls from time to time. How often do you guys have to do this and do you do it at a set time or is there a way around it?

Once a week or when my memory drops below 18mb. You can search for a program called SoftRest byt Metsfan. I will allow you to restart your BB without having to physically pull the battery. It's a nice function.

Softreset, is a good utility, although it helps, it doesnt fix all problems.
I do a softreset before I put it to charge overnite.
And I pull the battery once a week.

I usually pull the battery once I delete text messages and stuff on my phone.
I've noticed that if I delete 1000 text messages, that usually it doesn't show that extra "free space" in the status... so I've learned just to do it then..

I had softreset, but for whatever reason, to me it seemed like the hourglass of endless spinning went LONGER when I did the soft reset through the program then by just pulling the battery itself... Maybe I was crazy though?

And *maybe* that's how your prongs wore off the battery cover.... ;) (And all along your blamed the poor cat!) Shame on you! ha!

I only delete texts about once a week, so it actually evens out.. And I've only done that recently...

In the first week of having the phone though is when I noticed it first, and at that point I had no idea about the memory leaks..

Hhmm I got 18-19 MB after the battery pull, I usually pull my battery once a week or when I drop to 10 MB, after I clear my cookies, cache, messages.

I do the weekly battery pull weather it needs it or not. kinda like an enema for my phone. I like to show it who the boss is.

Agree that soft reset is good, but not a cureall. I usually try it first if i am having a problem

yup, once a week should be fine, i usually do a battery pull at least 2x a week though...

Sometimes if the BB Browser is having one of its moments, I'll pull the battery. But I do have SoftReset also. I usually reset about once or twice a week.

Can you tell me HOW I check the memory? Step by step?

Is this good or bad and I don't know what these numbers mean really.

Ignore the last 6 digits. You have 14mb free memory out of 50mb total. That should be fine. You can check it occasionally and see if it changes up or down. If it goes below 8-10mb remove the battery (with unit on) and replace it and see how much memory you have then (delete the messages/phone logs you don't need first). I don't need to pull my battery, nor does my wife. Ours hang around 18-23mb all the time. Your VZN device probably has less free memory because it has less memory total (mine has 64mb total). It's not a big deal unless is gets really low (less and 3-4mb), then you will lose messages, etc.

Gosh, I haven't even downloaded anything at all. How can my memory be that low? I delete text messages AS they come in so I have NONE in my phone, ever. When I go to applications and see what's there.......what can I delete?

It's pretty detailed, so it makes it pretty simple! There's quite a bit you can delete by following through that thread, I liked it a lot =)
