When trying to find a name in Contacts I often type the first letter in the name and it take me to the first letter in the key. For example to search for Nancy, if I press the 8/B/N key, B is displayed as the first letter of the search. If I hit the DEL key to delete the B and press the 8/B/N key again the list beginning with B is displayed. Do I need to switch to multi-tap. If so, how do I switch between SureType and muli-tap?

What if you type out Nancy by pressing these keys (without backing up):

Juwaack is right. It will find Nancy. Typing in the contact list took a little getting used to, for me at least.

For example, if you just hit the BN key, the results will show every first name, last name, or business name that starts with B or N. As you keep typing, it narrows down the results to every possible combination of the keys you typed, just like sure type does.

The best way I've found to navigate to contacts is to type the first 3 letters of their name in a sure type fashion. This usually gets me to that one person or a list short enough to navigate.
