| Device Transfer Please Login to Remove! Okay WTF is up with the 8130!!!! I am wondering if other users have experienced this issue before. My original 8130 from verizon had an issue and they decided to send me another 8130 as a replacement. So when i when i did the switch device wizard, everything loaded onto the new 8130 except there was one problem. when i went to sychronize the new 8130 with desktop manager, outlook couldnt read my device calendar anymore. it kept thinking that the calendar was empty and everytime i sync'd, outlook would try and send all the appts back to the device even though they were already there. so i tried to troubleshoot a bit and decided to add a new appt on my device and see if it would recognize it. when i sync'd it still couldnt read anything off the device's calendar. so basically i called RIM and i had to wipe the handheld and sync to outlook with an empty calendar on my device. so it finally sync'd but what a f*%ing nightmare.
RIM said its an issue with the 8130 and apparently during data swaps in a device transfer some of the old information (PIN information and service books) from the older device gets transferred to the new device which needs new and updated service books for the new PIN and to be able to properly sync with outlook. |
