My friend just emailed me with a song attached to the email! But it will not open and something tells me its to big! Its 5934K
is that big!

Is there a way to have it open and save on the memory card ?

There is a limit to the attachments the BlackBerry device will open. I am not sure of the limit but there is not a way to do this other than saving the song from the computer directly to the memory card.

on BIS yes that would be the workaround. on BES the limit can be set server side

Your friend can also use a free file hosting site and you can download it to your BlackBerry via the browser.

That is something you will have to ask RIM. It isn't a matter of a default saving location for the attachment. It is a matter of the attachment just being too large to even be saved via email. So it wouldn't even matter if you could default it to save to the microSD card. The attachment limit would still be in place.
