I was having a black berry pearl from TMobile. I no longer have a valid account now because, my company shifted to Verizon.

I wanted to unlock the phone so that I can use it with other carriers when I go out of USA. I got the unlock code from Tmobile as well as Cell phone unlock codes - unlock code for your cellphone - unlock your cell phone

When I enter the code, I get "Code error; please wait" message. Both TMobile and unlocktotalk.com researched on this and were not able to figure the problem.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have only one more chance to unlock the phone, I have exhausted 9 chances.

Very clear unlock instructuions are in our FAQ site--otherwise, I don't know what can be done for you.

You know the 10th incorrect entry will lock it permanently to your current carrier and only then it can be unlocked by shipping it to RIM.

Yes. I have tried exactly the same steps mentioned in the link. There are many other sites which have given the same information.

Is there any other reason you can think of regarding why I am not able to unlock this phone? What happens after the 10th try? Is there any way to unlock after the 10th try?

Is there any other way to unlock the phone? I mean other than IMEI unlock?

OK...I there a way to contact RIM before this and talk to them. I am trying to get their contact information and am not finding it anywhere...

RIM people would not answer any of the Black Berry questions. They asked me to contact Black Berry and I don't have option to report this problem. Only support Black Berry folks provide is for Email and Server Setups.

I am kind of lost...any more ideas?

You need to call TMo or VZW, your carrier, and ask to be transferred to BB support specialist, is about all the help we can be on this.

Normally this is a very simple process. Obviously, there is some issue here. Perhaps telling us where you initially purchased the BB from may help. Was it brand new from TMo, or used?

I did talk to Tmobile BB specialist. They went over some things and said that they can't do any thing else. They say that this is the code which they got from RIM.

This is a brand new phone bought by my company. I used to have a corporate account and since we shifted to Verizon, my company was giving away the phones to us. The TMobile phone number which I used to have has been shifted to Verizon.

Is there an IT Policy still on the BB, from your prior BES?

I wonder if that could be blocking the unlock?

How do I know if there is a IT policy? When I switch on the phone, it goes through some security checking. I would appreciate if you could let me know.

On your BB, go to Options > Security > General Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the screen where it should say "services". Is there anything listed there?

Ok, well that is good, no IT Policy.

Wiping a phone won't remove an IT Policy, though.

Any more ideas of what the problem could be? I really need to unlock the phone as soon as possible.
