How do I back-up my Blackberry Pearl...and then view the backed-up information offline?

For example, I backup my pearl to my computer...and then view text messages/call history/etc that I backed-up...on my computer...without connecting it back to the phone

You cannot, easily.

Do the backup from Desktop Manager, and using the resulting *.ipd file... use this software to translate, convert and view the resulting data.
