It works, you just have to compose email. You cant send a text to a email.

I'm not on a BB server. I've always had the option with other Sprint phones top send txt messages to any inbox, and it comes across as **********@messaging.sprintpcs.com. I have not been able to find where to set up e-mail using that sprint account e-mail.

Not on the blackberry, you cant. But if you get the dataplan from sprint for your BB, you will get a email address just for your phone. [email address]

Then you can send emails from whatever email address you want. No need to send them as a text.

You can send TXT to an email from BlackBerry device using MMS.(assuming that MMS Service Books have already been installed).

No need to triplicate response . . . did you initiate a txt message or replied to a txt message received from an email address? If the former, please share how you were able to input recipients email address . . .

My phones in an update right now, so I can't word for word do it..
But if you go into compose SMS message and then in the To: I think you can change it to letters, and you just enter in the email address that way. I'm pretty sure the alt button (bottom left) is the one that changes it to letters from numbers in the little box up there...

I wish I could do it right now... buuuuut I can't
I have texted an email before though, so it can be done.

I see there's a common factor between Dawg and hrmles1 - BB Pearl on VZW . . . could this be a feature on this combo? The only way I can do it is on MMS . . . anyone else able (or unable) to do so on a different set-up? . . . I see mizditz also states the ability with a Pearl on TMO...

Ok, I actually did this again now that my phone is all working and such, and I'm not able to get the @ sign into the address... I thought I had done it before, maybe not! I'll keep trying though lol

It may be because I don't already have the address IN my phone book... so I shall try that as well
ok.. I tried that too, that didn't want to work either! Maybe I imagined it working on my phone lol

For those not on VZW, when you click on compose SMS does it pull up your address book? If so, do you see the option to "[Use Once]"? (will be above the very first entry in your address book) When I click on that, (on VZW/Pearl) I have an option for "phone" or "email" when I click on email i can type in an address with the @ sign and everything. Maybe it is just a VZW thing...

I can't remember if I ever had that option before my OS upgrade... (which was yesterday) I could swear I did.. but I don't have the option now..
If I really wanted to test this, I would go back to tmobiles OS release.. but eh :P

-edit-
dumb me! I still have my old phone that I restored everything too!!
Lemme go see if it works!

-edit 2-
Ok, I don't get that option on the original OS either...
I get it for composing an MMS, but not an SMS...
