Question the perils of new toys

Please Login to Remove!

I have been playing with my brand new pearl for 24 hours - love it and hate it in equal measures. I am not a technophobe (honest) but it is not working as it ought
1. sent an email to a mate, who received the email (via his PC) but could not reply
2. only about half of the emails that arrive in my inbox (outlook) arrive on the pearl
3. I can sync via USB to my laptop - but not via blue tooth (Vista) - it says that I have to install software - I have tried putting the blackberry user tools disc in but the message comes back as the software not being found.

Have you tried resending your service books? Might help with the email issues.

This might sound dumb - what is a service book and what do I do with it when i find it?! I have searched within the pearl but it came up with nothing with this name!

Ok. go to https://my.t-mobile.com/Login/Default.aspx

Then log in to your account, and on the right it should say "send service books". Do that.

Wirelessly posted

Hey kat option is correct make sure u have all the service books on your blackberry. Service books are files sent to ur blackberry that have settings and protocols for each e mail account. Example I have 3 email accounts on my blackberry. So when I send the service books to my phone it will sent the settings for the 3 e mail boxes. The sync with vista make sure u are logged in as admin.if not it won't allow u to install programs. And what I would do is download the latest desktop management software. And there should be a setting for blue tooth hope this helps

Default Kat

I had same issue with "not found" message. Called tech support at Verizon (very helpful), and they had me install over the air, as opposed to from desktop.
Don't know if that will help you or not, but immediately solved problem for me.

Good Luck!

What did they have you install over the air? Did you actually install something, or just dial #228
