Just the other day I started getting this error message when I was trying to save pictures received via MMS. I'm just trying to save the images to my BB 8100. I don't have any additional memory cards, and the Status screen shows over 25MB of free space.

Any ideas?

on your home screen click the media icon then hit the menu key and go to options. under pictures, what does it say next to "reserve picture memory"?

Hi - it shows 2MB

I followed JC's post yesterday thinking that would fix my problem. While it did free up tons of space, I'm still getting that same message.

change that setting to 5mb and try accessing the file then.

I get this message:

The desired memory size settings could not be achieved. Please delete files to free up space before attempting to set the quota again.

Confused since the Status=>Options screen shows so much free space.

i think your mistaking what "free" space means. that free space isnt necessarily for taking. that is the free space the system and the system only can use for its usage, i.e sms messages, email, temp files. etc. A "portion" of that free space you can use to store you own files. so by the system telling you that there is no free space left, well then you obviously used all the allocated memory for media storage that has been set by the device.

Well, I just removed 216 pictures. That seemed to do the trick!
