Exclamation Help!!!

Please Login to Remove!

I can not install Desktop software. The following message appears and the installation ends.
' Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run.
Custom action RIM_InstallOptionallITAdminFiles script error- 2147319779; Line 8, column 1
And I have Windows XP Sp2 professional with Win Installer 3.1 and Java runtime environment update 5

Welcome to the forums!

I recommend installing and running the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility on your computer, and then check it to see if there are any instances of of Desktop Manager listed. If there are, select them and remove them. Reboot your computer and try the installation again.

Also, for future reference, please put a more descriptive title for the thread. This way it will help others searching for similar requests.

I did everything you said, however, it still does not work:( any other ideas???

honestly it sounds like the the java scripts installed on your computer may be corrupted or not installed at all. it sounds more like a computer issue than the software bundle.
