I prefer multi-type over sure-type.

I selected multi-type in the options and saved some 30 days ago when I received this 8130. Since then, I've had to go back into options and reselect multi-type and re-save at least 4 times.

Something is changing my settings from multi-type to sure-type without my assistance/approval. Is this common behavior? I cannot see where any other options have been changed.

The only software installation I've done is Opera Mini and that just yesterday.

It happens. Not sure why. However, SureType is the preferred method for typing on the Pearl. Is there a reason you don't use SureType?

Most people who prefer MultiTap don't know how to properly use Suretype.

Its all about preference. I use about 15,000 sms message a month on my pearl and i use multi-tap and i am very good at it.

I reviewed that thread. Thanks for the link. I'm still not sold on SureType. Maybe I'm too old.

On the other hand, this comment from a SureType supporter may do a better job of explaining my thoughts: "There will be some key combinations that will give you the wrong word...."

99.99% of the time I will not get the wrong word with MultiTap. There is no guessing - I know what I'm typing. But I'm glad we have the choice to select what ever works best for each individual. To each his own. I just wish that once I made my choice it became permanent.
