Ok I've had my Pearl for 2 days now and I'm having some confusion.

1. Does Blackberry issue updates or patches for their phones? Are there any for the Pearl that I should get? How do I go about doing this?

2. I read about the Blackberry internet e-mail... I thought it would be cool to have a Blackberry e-mail address but I can't figure how to set it up. The instructions I have here told me to go to "Set up Internet E-mail" on my main menu but I can't find that anywhere at all. Help?

3. How do I copy things to my sim card? I would like to save my address book to it but the only way I can see to do that is to put in every contact one by one into the sim card. Isn't there a way to just copy the entire address book onto it? What else can I copy onto my sim card?

4. This is more of a T-Mobile question but I figured I'd ask here since I'm already posting... what's "linked listen"? The voicemail has this option but I cannot figure out what it is.

1. Yes, OS updates are a big thing here on the forum. Check the sticky threads at the top of each device forum.

2. You need a BB data plan in order to have the "setup internet email" icon on the main menu.

3. That's how you save things to the sim card. The BB address book holds much more than the one number per name that the sim card holds. I wouldn't worry about the sim card phone book. Load up your BB address book and make frequent backups or sync with Outlook.

4. Don't know, never used it.

1) yes, check the 8100 series forums the latest update, its in a sticky at the top for the 8100
2) log into your blackberry account from myTmobile and create the address there
3) you can backup to Outlook or another organizer program via Desktop manager. Other than that you can copy from address book to SIM one at a time.

1. Is there a way to transfer my pictures from my phone to my comp? I couldn't figure out how to do it with the Roxio media manager.

2. What's up with the maps? It doesn't seem to do anything for me. do I have to have been signed up for a data service with t-mobile?

1 in the media manager on the bottom half open the folder your pics are in and drag them to the top half

2 yes maps requires a data plan. It does not store any maps on the device, but downloads them from a server as needed

Hello there... I am also a new Blackberry User. Everything on my Pearl works which is fabulous, but I can't seem to get it to connect to the Blackberry Manager. I plug the USB cable in, load Blackberry manager but it just says Disconnected. I go to Options > Connection Settings > Detect but it doesn't ever find it. I have tried all the different USB ports so it is definitely a software problem. Has anyone got any suggestions? I am trying to get all of my Contacts across, everything else synchs wirelessly.
