I killed Pearl #1 and have purchased Pearl #2. I pulled the media card out of #1 because it's full of music, photos, ringtones, etc. Well phone #2 does not recognize the media card. I went to options/advanced options/media card and it's showing that the media card cannot be read. It says to verify that the memory card is formatted. I don't want to lose all the info on the card.

Does anybody have any idea why phone number 2 cannot read the media card? I did slide it in the metal slot and locked it correctly. I slid the skinny part in first. I mean, it's in there correctly. I've pulled it out repeatedly to make sure it's in there right.

Is it possible that since I formatted it with pearl #1 that I have to format with pearl #2?

Does your computer see it if you plug it in?

No it doesnt. It only recognizes device memory

Ok. What did you do to the other pearl?

It fell from about 10 feet onto a concrete surface (on a ledge/knocked over). Didn't wake up from the fall. Do you think I could have damaged the media card when it fell?

I ended up re-formatting the card with the replacement pearl. It formatted the card and now it works. So unless someone knows functionally what's goin on, it must be that the formatting also involves formatting the handheld as well as formatting the card. Either way, I lost some cool pics and ringtones, but lesson learned.
