It's really only worth it if you need the wifi/uma access. If you don't, then you won't gain too much.

I think this is a matter of personal preference. . . consider the "improvements" (wifi, UMA, higher res camera, stereo BT, 3.5mm jack, upto 8GB expansion card) and ask yourself whether you can live without it or not. . .

Acutally this is interesting....I would not have known what you were talking about until I played with my Sons Tmo Pearl. Ther buttons are very different from my ATT phone. And yes, they do slide it's as if they are taller with more space, my ATT are low profile, smooth and close together, his wiggle all over the place.

Good Luck!

Dude you don't "have to" leave TMobile to get the new Pearl. They are or already shipping the 8120. Just remember the 8130 although has a slightly faster browsing speed due to the data connection, you don't get WiFi. But you gain GPS. AT&T is soon to ship the 8110 as well; so its an EDGE data connection match for the VZW 8130.

Hope you haven't cancelled your plan just yet. Look at the available current options. And Bon Chance.

Also note that by leaving for Verizon 8130, you only gain GPS if you subscribe to VZ Nav. They lock the GPS to that program, and it will not work without it.

Yes I mean saving the almost 19 dollars doesn't make sence when some of the places I frequent I don't get signal so my new phone arrives on the 3rd with Vzw. Nothing against Tmobile my needs are just met elsewhere. You guys have been most helpful thank you!

VZW has the WORST customer service. They will outright LIE to you. Search the forum for my awful experience with VZW, "Verizion is the DEVIL", then make a decision.

I never had problems with VZW service. But anyway, the only thing I didn't like about VZW is that they did not get new phones like TMo, ATT, etc. They always seemed to be behind the game a bit. Plus, I love the SIM cards. I use a beater phone for skiing, biking, etc. Then a nicer phone for other times. Can't do that with VZW (unless you want to call CC everytime you want to switch). BUT, none of that matters if you're not getting good reception. For me, TMo actually gets better reception than VZW in my area.

well i made the decision and went VZW i love the 8130 better all around phone than the 8100. plus I don't have to worry bout customer service one of my boys is a district manager!!! I feel that I have made the right decision, everyone I know is on VZW so im always in network, my signal is great and the EVDO speeds are so much faster than edge. 8130 has better interface, sturdier build and better suretype all around a better BB can't wait to see it's improvements on 4.5!!!
