Hi All,

I am trying to send SMS, and I have sent one successfully... (and received a reply) the rest all have a little clock symbol next to the message and when it click it, says "pending".

Any ideas?

That happens to mine 2...but only for a second. Then it sends fine. The only time that I had it take longer the sending failed and I was having other network problems.

Try pulling the battery and trying to send them again.

try a battery pull and making sure you have a good signal

I have recently got the new 8110 pearl and im having a rather difficult time with it. Firstly the same as you amnesia the phone had been sending messages but then all of a sudden it stopped and says pending now. I tried pulling the battery and sim card out and then putting the battery in without and switching on as this apparently updates you phone according to o2??? ok done that still no sending the messages i phoned o2 about why my phone wont register either online and dropped the pending sms question in also so the say i have to send it back to them for replacement. Not a happy bunny am I. Did you get yours fixed??

go into options > SMS change default network to GSM and encoding from either 7 to 8bit, or 8 to 7bit

Thank you Sith apprentice for the information i have changed all the settings in the sms options menu and hey presto it sent a message. Now to contend with o2 and get the handset finally registered and also to cancel the replacement handset.
