Default 8100 communication issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hello friends,
I own a BB Pearl which works just fine.
Today I was trying to update my friend's pearl to a the latest firmware because he was having trouble using it and there was a java error shown after the phone verifies the security settings on the boot. After connecting the phone to the desktop manager the update process was executed. This is where trouble comes, as the old data is being erased after the backup the program gives a communication error and the phone now won't turn on to its desktop screen or show any errors. I thought this might be because of low battery so Its been on charge for the past 40 mins and all its doing is flashing the red light twice every 3-4 seconds. It won't show anything on the screen neither does it connect to my pc. What should I do?
