Default Can't upgrade 8100 OS v4.2.1.107

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought an unlocked Cingular 8100 with current OS v4.2.0.71 and I'm using it with my Tmobile SIM card OK . I downloaded the desktop manager 4.3 , installed it to my PC and have deleted the vendor.xml , I then downloaded the 8100 OS v4.2.1.107 from Tmobile site , installed it to the PC . Opened the DM & connected the handheld to my PC , backup my handheld , when I opened the application loader , it does not recognize there is an upgrade for my device ? What have I done wrong ? Please advice - Thanks

You need to delete the Vendor.xml file AFTER you install the 8100 OS v4.2.1.107 on your PC.

It sounds like you deleted it after you installed Desktop Manager.

If you have installed the OS correctly and deleted the vendor.xml file, the upgrade should appear automatically upon connection to Desktop Manager. Unplug the USB, reboot the PC and the BB (pull the battery while powered on), replace and retry.

There is a more recent 8100 OS upgrade here if you prefer:

Good luck.

You have to double click the Operating System file that you downloaded on your PC. It will ask you to install on the *PC* (make sure DM is closed when you double click it) after it has installed delete the vendor.xml file and then launch the DM, Application Loader.

Good luck!
