Default Ringtones/Alert Tones?

Please Login to Remove!

First of all, I'd like to say hi to the forum. I recently traded a Nokia for a Blackberry Pearl 8100. I have to say I LOVE the Pearl...
So I've made my own ringtones from songs and tried using them as ringtones but they aren't LOUD enough. I never hear the phone ring.
I am wondering if anyone knows a good place to download free alert tones like the ones that come preloaded on the phone? I'm not a big fan of any of the ones it came with...
Seems like a simple request but all I can find are cheesy polyphonic ringtones...
Thanks in advance and I'm sure Ill have more questions for you all!

You can download songs from Tmobile.com... (i see you are on tmo). They come across just right.

I have dl my own songs and don't have the problem of volume levels. Have you tried messing around with the settings?

Yes, the phone is set as loud as it goes. Still isn't loud enough compared to all the other phones I've owned.
As far as the tones go, I'm not looking for RINGTONES. I want basic tones like the ones that are preloaded on your phone. I can make my own ringtones at home, if I could hear them anyway.
Most ringtone sites have few if any ALERT tones...that's what I am looking for...anyone?

As loud as it goes...is this by the buttons on the side or have you changed from the default Profile? It is the Profile you have to change to LOUD.

I take it that before answering the above, you did not take the time to look through the link I posted. There are many ALERT-TYPE TONES on those sites... not just RINGTONES. I did read you post and the link I gave you is a great resource of BOTH.

Cool thanks Gato.
JSanders- I did check out the links, most of them are broken and the few that work have mostly song ringtones. But thanks for the link.
As far as LOUD, yes the phone is set to LOUD. Its still pretty quiet.
Ill try the online ringtone making thing and see if that makes them any louder.

You know, when I first got my 8100, I went through the same thing. The ring tones were not as loud as I was accustomed to (my last cell was a Moto i885. It was pretty loud). I tried to find louder tones, make my own, but I still wasn't satisfied.
But, once I grew use to my 8100, I found that it is plenty loud. It was just a matter of me & my phone getting to know each other. So, my advice is if you can't find tones that are loud enough, just give it some time. I bet you'll be doing as I do now in no time; having to actually turn the volume down.
Good Luck!

eh, try it again. Obviously, I see you haven't, as I thought.

Out of the 11 links, two are broken, (2 out of 11 is not "most") (and those are being removed or repaired--thanks! ). And most of those links do have alert-type tones.

Not to argue with you about it, but I see I should have saved my effort for someone who actually was interested.

Have a good day.

Actually #s 2, 4 and 7 on the list are broken.
The intention of my post was to find out if there are specific sites that have only alert tones.
I don't want to have to sift through, car horns, you've got mail messages and songs to find them,
If this doesn't exist I understand, but I was hoping to solicit some info from someone that might know of a SPECIFIC place to find what I am looking for.
I can find hundreds of free ringtone sites on google, that wasn't exactly what I am looking for.
