I'm sure someone else has had this problem but I couldn't find the thread and I don't know if there is a solution for this. Basically everytime my pearl locks it asks for the password and it locks every 2 minutes it isn't used which can be extremely annoying. When I go to 'Options' then 'Security Options', 'General Settings' the 'Password: Enabled' and 'Security Timeout: 2mins' both have a red padlock next ot them so I can't change them. Is there a way to undo this? I tried wiping the handheld but it made no difference whatsoever.

Your BlackBerry has an "IT Policy" on it that is requiring the password. If this is connected to a corporate network, then they may be forcing the password.

If it is a personal BB and not connected, check out Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ and look for an article entitled "Remove IT Policy".

It took me a while to do the steps but it works now! I had to save the 'policy.bin' file into a different folder and manually put it into the Blackberry file because it was saying I needed the admins permission even though I am the admin :S Oh well, the rest was really clear so thank you very much! I also downloaded the colour trackball application (very nice!!)
