The screen on my phone is not working. All the other functions work but the screen is just all white. I have already tried resetting it and nothing happened. Anybody know what i can do?

Nothing at all, sometimes it the screen changes but only to different bands of colour

was the device dropped or was it exposed moisture, including steam?

i have actually no idea what happened to it.

first check the liquid damage indicators on the device. one is on the battery the other is under on the device itself. the battery one should have red lines on a white field, but NO pink. the one on the device should be pure white.

Well...so it was liquid-damaged. is there any way to fix it? or would it just be easier to bring it back to my carrier

liquid damage usually means the device is toast. dry it out completely. take it apart as much as you can (battery, back cover, etc) and stick it in bags of dry rice. the rice will pull moisture from it. let it sit for a couple days and check back with it. though it is unlikely that it will work. you may have to check the third link in my sig to check for repair parts.

well it's just the screen, everything else works

i have saved a few 8100s from the white screen, took apart the BB, and pulled the screen off, the few i had, the metal surround of the screen was shorting out to the solder of the USB port.

...that's kind of complicated for me. any other suggestions?

My screen started going crazy over the last few days with wierd pixalations and colors, now it is just completely blank. It is on and will receive calls, the red light is flashing indicating I have a message but no screen and I can't dial anyone. Any ideas? Parts?

cjcar is right - I had the white screen of death and USB didn't work. (nice endo, btw)
USB port crapped out first, later got white screen of death. Definitely from repeated dropping of the phone.
I went with the paper fix (slide a piece of paper between the lcd unit and solder points for usb)
Screen was working this AM before the fix, and now USB was working, too, but again usb/lcs crapped at the end of my sync.
EDIT- maybe my paper wasn't deep enough; there are 4 solder points for usb. Also tried not to tighten the screw in that corner too much.
