Take it apart and make sure it's "really" dry.

Remove the battery, sim card and memory card (if installed.) Pepsi is acidic so leaving it inside the device will cause harm. You'll need to rinse it with distilled water and then leave it to dry in a warm place for about 5 days. If you can get the device apart, that would even be better.

Do you mean why? Because the sugar in the pepsi will make the keypad sticky. The acid in the pepsi will corrode the circuit board and keyboard contacts. It's best to do it before the pepsi dries, too. Then RESIST the urge to put the battery back in before it's completely dry. That means about 5 days if you don't get it apart and a couple days if you do.

It probably needs an alcohol bath, too.

Something similar happened with my wife's Palm unit...she spilled a sweet drink into her purse and etc.

DON'T switch the unit on! Dismantle it as much as you can [safely]. Dunk the parts in distilled water...you should be able to buy a gallon for a few dollars at your grocery. Make sure all the sticky pop is rinsed out. Put it in a warm [but not hot] place to dry for several days...a week might be best. Then reassemble it and good luck!

My wife's Palm survived this treatment and still works a couple of years later...
