Is it possible to download msn messenger and use it on an 8110 bb.

Yes. But I would suggest at least trying Jivetalk. It's a multi-client messenger. It will allow you to do all of the popular ones. It's not free but at least the trial is!

msn messenger can be tricky to run on it's own and works best through Jivetalk I beleive.
