just bought a 8100 pearl off ebay that is on the orange network. I put my sim card in but it comes up with sim card rejected? any ideas?

Some more info please. Were you currently on orange.

My old phone is a nokia 6070 and the orange sim is about 3 years old. When I put it into the 8100 which has the orange badge on the case and when powered up its has the orange software. It goes through the security scan and momentarily recognises orange then goes to sim card rejected..
I have asked the seller and they have confirmed that its a orange 8100. Cannot understand why the card does not work.

That's because you need a BlackBerry Data Plan provisioned on your account.
Call Orange and have them add one.
