I'm a member of a few forums so i know the rules and everything but I must ask, there are a ton of threads and i STFA but just need a quick answer if you guys dont mind if these questions are too common......

I just purchased my blackberry pearl 8100 and got a really beautiful OEM black rubber cover (says blackberry on back) for it and i have to say it looks so classy w/ the rubber cover. Not to mention, it was only $7 shipped from a reputable ebay seller.

A few things have got me concerned...

Im not a super nerd or anything but i like to have a nice phone.....

I've added the iphone theme and colortrackball but those dont really do it for me...

The only thing the iphone theme is missing is the Stocks app.......

So....

1) Is there any way we can get a similar stock program for our bb's?

2) I have to reformat my sd card to get it to work right? ( i have tons of pics, thats gonna stink.....)

3) I try to put a few mp3 files on but it says that the memory is full and i dont have anything on it..

4) When setting my background picture, and trying to get it to fit the screen, the zoom feature only comes out clear if at 1:1 or original dimensions..... Is that a common thing? Seems like it.... If not what can i do?

5) How do i get the "L" theme? I am on OS version 4.2.0.73, I saw that new beta release, but is it much diff than the newest version? Where can i get that?

6) Im a bit of a cheapo, I only use the internet sometimes and didnt sign up for my email yet.. I bought this not knowing it doenst have the WI FI feature.....So im looking for an 8120 now.. But my cheapness is setting in, Would you guys recommend buying a Euro phone and unlocking it? or is that risky? (For ATT)

"SFTW" means ?

1. Similar to what? A "theme" does not contain apps, it is like your rubber skin on the BB, just something nice to look at, like a graphic interface.

2. Most people don't have to reformat the Media Card. I have never had to.

3. mp3 files are on the Media Card? If they are DRM files (iTunes), they won't work on a BB.

5. The L Theme is not available for that model and OS yet.

6. You can do that, and have it unlocked for a US carrier. I would just give a few more weeks.

Is there an App similar to the Stock Info app that the iphone has?

I searched and checked the faq and it said that if it doesnt register you have to reformat it, but its not reading mine so i guess i have to :(

Where should i be sending the audio files to? which directory ?

Lastly, Why do you suggest waiting a few weeks man?

Also, my BB desktop does not have a media transfer feature, So i just have to drag and drop by exploring the blackberry and putting the files into the assumed appropriate folder.....

Sorry--you said SFTA, i couldn't decipher it either. I simply mistyped SFTW.

I don't know what stock info app the iPhone has. Someone here might, that has used it. But there are some stock info apps, look in your Aftermarket Software section here, you will find lot of third party applications.

Audio/music files should go to the Media Card > Music
or sometimes it is listed as Media Card > BlackBerry > Music

I suggest that because the price on the local US models of the 8120 might go down abit after the gloss wears off some. Since you said the $s were an issue.

Transferring pictures via drag'ndrop is perfect, I do the same.

If memory serves me correctly, you'll need to format the card before the BB directory structure will be set up.

Then you can set it for Mass Storage mode and access the directory on your PC ................... then you can copy your tunes as JS has indicated.

Instead of supplying a crappy manual, RIM should just direct new customers to BBF.
