Here's my story:
I had the old crappy razr (it only had aim) and it worked, I'm pretty sure I don't have the data plan and the aim messages were counting as text messages (which is ok, I have unlimited text). The point is aim worked.
My sister has a Blackberry pearl who's default messaging is OZ. Since she only used aim and not msn/yahoo/icq I'm not sure of those 3 work or not, but aim did.
So she got a new phone and gave me her blackberry. She took her sim card out, I put mine from the razr, everything seemed to be working til I tried signing on aim/msn. It goes to 80% pretty quick but hangs there (ends up failing) with a message saying something about a communication error, check your settings. I've done plenty of searches to see if others had the same problem and to find a solution. Adding wap.voicestream to TCP was one of the 'fixes', also upgrading handheld software was one. Neither worked, then I read somewhere that I should try reinstalling OZ, so I uninstalled it but I wasn't able to put it back on, the checkbox to install reinstall it simply wasn't there anymore.
What I'm hoping for is a download link to get OZ Instant Messaging back on my phone. I'm unable to use the browser to get to mobile.blackberry on the bb some reason (more like, I can't find it -sadface) Then once I get help getting that back, I still need help making it work so I can log in again.
I also read somewhere that I need to register something in host routing table, but in that option is completely empty, I can't add anything to it either. Same for service book, empty :( |
