Default 8120 pin registration problem - HELP

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, so I just got a new 8120 yesterday. For whatever reason the PIN will not register. When I login to my account with TMO to change the device PIN and IMEI I get a 'suspended or deactivated PIN' message.

I have called TMO and they receive the same message. They tranferred me to RIM and basically they sent me back to TMO saying its their issue. TMO basically told me there is nothing they can do.

HOW THE HECK do I fix this issue? At the moment I cannot get any email because I cant register the new PIN.

Everything else seems to work fine including myFAVS, but AIM does not work and something is up with the browser.

PLEASE HELP. It is not provisioning because is been over a day now. Using the host routing table -> register now just sends a registration message then I never get anything back.

your browser problem: go to options then advanced options then browser and switch T-zones to HotSpot and your browser should be working.

The browser issue is tied with the problem above not being able to register the phone.

Okay, I have been back and forth with RIM and TMO all friggin day long. Both say its the others problem. I was finally able to use the change device option in my TMO account online to get the new PIN and IMEI listed. I still cannot receive service books though when I send them.

Also, I cannot register with BlackBerry and under host routing tables I have NOTHING listed. Doing the 'register now' just tells me the message was sent then nothing happens at all. I was told by TMO that my account with them is all correct and that RIM doesnt have the updated info yet. RIM tells me that its a TMO problem. My last convo I was told there is maintenance going on with RIM and that I should wait till Monday to see if anything changes.

At the moment I have no bb data, not registered with bb, and cannot register with TMO.

Yes, I have pulled the battery numerous times and I even wiped the handheld with JL and reloaded and the same result happens.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Could you log on to the T-Mobile BIS website and send the service books from there?

I can login and click the send service books option but then nothing is sent to my phone. I am guessing this is because there is no data service being shown as I am not registered with BB or the network. I'm at a loss on this one.

Latest update :

After wiping clean yet again I also decided to uninstall DM and reload it as well. After loading the device I was finally able to register on the TMO network and now have listings in the HRT. I also got the blackberry registration email, however, it appears I'm not registered with them as I have no data services at all (I have unlimited). So, eventhough I was able to send service books I still cannot push email, use AIM, use the browser, etc, etc.

FUN FUN

call them and have them remove the data plan. wait 5 minutes and have them readd. wait up to 2 hours (usually is only a few minutes) for the data to add and see if that works.

I don't believe it is a tmo issue any longer. From what they have told me the BB side still lists me as an 8100 pearl and the old PIN as well. I am supposed to wait till Monday and call RIM when a higher level person is there.

I was also told yesterday that there was maintenance going on with RIM over the weekend which could delay propogation - which sounds like my problem at the moment. Going to wait till tomorrow and see what happens.

RIM gets your PIN from the carrier. If RIM is showing the 8100 PIN then your carrier did something wrong. If it was the maintenance, readding the data plan after removing will fix that as well

If it were me, I would exchange the device for a new one since the issue seems to be tied to your specific blackberry. If the new phone gave me the same issues, then I would continue pursuing a solution.

Well, after being on the phone for another hour today and nobody being able to fix the problem I decided to go into TMO and buy another one. I popped my SIM in at the store and everything works perfectly. I will be returning the other one tomorrow.

Go figure!!!
