Default Application Loader problem

I had an 8830 and just traded it in for a 8130 pearl.
My problem is that when I go to load thru the DM's application loader. I locate the .alx file and then click add. I get the following error message:
"No additional applications designed for your device were found."

The applications that I am trying to load are designed for the 8130 pearl.
Anyone else have this problem or know what the solution is?

Yes, you need to download the software for your Handheld and install it to your PC.

Default which software?
not to sound stupid, but which software? I d/l the newer version of the desktop manager.
As I rec'ved your response, I'm looking on Verizon's site to see if there is another software, but have no idea what software is needed.

The handheld software (also known as the operating system). Download it (same or newer version as what is on your handheld) and run it. Long story - see blackberryfaq.com and posts on the topic by John Clark - but do it and you'll be on your way.

Reset If I reistall the os Do I need to delete the previous vertion from my computer?
