Default CinBell Pearl - Unlock Code?

Please Login to Remove!

I received a Pearl in a trade today, branded Cincinnati Bell. Called their wireless, waited the hour and a half for customer service, asked the lady for the unlock code, and they said they couldn't find it.

Every eBay listing basically says Cingular or T-Mobile - short of calling again and asking, how exactly would I go about finding the unlock code. I have an account with T-Mobile already, that's my target.

Is it indeed locked? Try HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, Canada’s Cellular Repair Center . If you can't get an answer from the site, contact BBF Member ShapelessBB. That's his site and he can help, I'm sure.

I did the unlock code in the "SIM Card" menu, and it showed "Network: Active", so I'm pretty sure it's locked.

Yeah, it's locked. TMobile won't unlock it for you. You'll have to pay to get it unlocked. Check with the link I posted above and/or contact ShapelessBB. I'm sure he can help you out.

I used to have CinBell service until a week and a half ago. I am told they do not give codes, "you can buy them of the internet." I asked for unlock codes for the 8700G and the 8100 Pearl which had a broken pin in the USB port. The wouldn't repair it because they said "It showed signs of obvious physical abuse and or water damage" The phone was only three months old and had never been out of a case. There was not a scratch on it and the water damage sticker was fine too. They said they could see it was fine, but when they send it out for repair they have to go by what the tech says. I switched service after nine years with CinBell to AT&T. I wanted to have the 8700 unlocked for a back up. So i ranted a little, I am still bitter.

Good luck with it.
