Lightbulb Setting tones for txt, email, IM, etc. For newbs

Let me start by saying I am a newb to BBs myself. This site has been very helpful to me in many ways so far. However, I have discovered something (by accident) that may be helpful to other BB newbs.

The preloaded ringtones and tone selection is minimal on your new phone. This was annoying to me until I found a site for ringtones in another thread. If you know a site, great. If not then maybe I can link to the thread where I found the site. Anyway, with whatever method you use to install tones and ringtones, you might be wondering (as I was) how do you change the sounds for messages, emails, IMs, etc? Once I figured it out it is very easy.

In your options click on "Profiles" (it looks like a megaphone speaker). By default it is set to "normal." Scroll down to advanced and click on it. You will see the profiles in text format. Click on your active profile (again, "normal" by default) and a list of all the features will come up. Click on the feature you want to change the sound for (example, "AIM Alert" at top). Then all you do is click on whatever you want to change and how you want to be alerted.

It should be self explanatory from there. If not I will try to help. I am always playing with settings and learning more each day.
