Default Os 4.5

Please Login to Remove!

I havent been able to find anything; but do any "insiders" know why there is no info about 4.5 for the 8120, or other pearl 2 devices. I don't see anything about betas much less an actual release from rim.

Also, does anyone know (from the installers stand point) the difference between a release for the 8100 vs one for the 8120? Are they essentially the same? Only reason i ask this is because when you edit the Blackberry.ALX file there are indications for themes for other devices other than the 8120 (which i downloaded the normal O2 release for the 8120).

Thanks
SnBd

Wirelessly posted (8310; The Juggernaut)

Each OS is specific to the model for which it was released.

It is beta, non available for the public. Period.

you have seen a beta for it? i am not asking for a copy, as i have found betas for the 8100 and most other blackberry models; nor am i trying to use an 8100 installer on my phone. i was simply asking an informed question. When you look at the blackberry alx file there are instructions for other models. So unless there is a common alx file for all installs, than there has to be some similarity.

Sorry, I might have misinterpreted your question, but no, the OSs are not interchangeable, and as far as I know, edits to the ALX file won't make one work on the other.

Typically, the .alx files are the same across the device models. GSM and CDMA device .alx's differ but are usually the same within the GSM family and CDMA family respectively.

Again, 4.5 for the 8120 exists. It's still in beta, though.

from what I have heard it is indeed horrible at the moment in terms of battery life. Even worse than the rumors of the 9000 battery life.
