I'm on my 4th company-provided Pearl in the last year. The last 2 have had issues when trying to enter the 2nd letter on the key. For example, instead of displaying "h" it would display "gg". Brand new out of the box. It's running 4.2.1.96 OS. As you can imagine, I either send out really stupid emails or spend way too much time trying to correct them. I've set the keyboard speed to fast, but no change. Just wondering if anyone here has had this issue and/or what they did to resolve it.

have you tried SureType instead of tapping??? I know it's hard to get used to but if you embrace it you will be amazed how quickly you can type.

I tried my hardest to like SureType, but on my 8100s that didn't have typing issues, I spent more time scrolling to get the correct word than I did typing the message. Haven't tried it lately.

Do you have SureType enabled? You should. Options > Keyboard.

When using SureType, just type out the word looking at the keyboard as you type, for most all common words. When complete, 99% of the time, the BB will have chosen the correct word, or scroll and you choose it and select space to ok it.

it sounds like you should try going back to suretype. i didn't like it at first either, but it's really simple once you have learned how to use it. i know i personally couldn't stand waiting for the little cursor to move to the next letter when typing the old way on my other phones.
