Yesterday morning it was working fine and then took a call later in the day and no sound coming out of the speaker. Works on speaker phone and my bluetoothe works fine. Did a reset on it and still have the same problem. Called T-Mobile and they said that the reset should have fixed it otherwise, I have to buy a new phone. Any ideas? I was told that this is a common problem? I really dont want to buy a new phone just yet.

I experienced this. There are lots of posts around but no answer.

The most common problem is not with the software.

The speaker has is connected to the phone by 2 tiny metal wires. Sometimes they compress too much and loose contact. You'll find the headset still works, but no rear speaker.

You need to take the phone apart carefully (its easy if you follow the disassembly photos in the sticky thread). Then slightly straighten the wires on the speaker, then put back togeather.

Easy peasy. If you need a photo of the speaker then email me and ill do my best.

not sure if this will help, but i get this problem when im downloading a video and the connection gets cut. the media player opens up and says invalid format. after that, i lose the speaker. I found that if turn around and play an mp3 it fully reboots the phone, then everything is back to normal..

$22 plus shipping...either that or buy a new phone. :P

Same thing happened to me five months after I got my Blackberry. T Mobile replaced it, but when the warranty time ran, they calculated it from the purchase, and not from the replacement date, which wasn't right.

I guess tomorrow I will try and take it apart and see what is going on in there. However, I just checked the disassembly photos and those pages cannot be viewed. Thanks to all for your input, this is getting a little frustrating. Today I had to work solely off of my cell cuz all the landlines were down and had to switch to speakerphone every time. Hard to use a bluetoothe in a fire truck with a headset on. I guess I need to go buy a small torx driver now.
