somehow, i got some "junk" underneath the 7 key on my pearl. It seems sticky and not sure if if will harm the bb. Is there a safe way to take the key off and put it back on without hurting the bb?

The keypad is one large piece, all keys together. You will need to disassemble the BB to clean under it...
