Default SMS, Emails, Call Log all gone...

Please Login to Remove!

Out of nowhere, my pearl decided to delete all of my emails, texts, and call logs. now it only holds emails and texts for a few hours after which time it deletes them by itself. Call logs is not working at all. When I get a missed call, I can't even see who it is.

has anyone else had this problem? if so, how can i fix this?

thanks!

You're out of device memory.
Check Options > Status > File Free

Delete things that you don't need. Apps, Themes, Pics, Ringtones, etc.

i only have 2 apps installed (bb411 and gtalk). no ringtones, themes, or anything else downloaded on the device.

i had 7 pictures on it which i deleted and there is now 6268256 bytes free. is that normal/sufficient?

am i missing something here?

In my opinion that is too low for any model. You should be shooting for at least 12mb and can easily get to 20mb free depending on the model. Start with deleting the sample video and the unused languages. For detailed
information see:

Good Luck!

Default lost calls and email

I am having the same problem. I called verizon and they told me there is no fix other then removing battery every few days. that blackberry does not see this as a problem... HAHAAHAH yeah right. I was traveling and using my BB for email and in one day lost all my emails and calls 4 times.

I have done all they have told me to do and added a 1 gig card. I have one ring tone, and one song on my phone.. only using like 20% of memory and it still happens.

the verizon teck told me she is getting rid of her pearl because of the known problem. I think i am going to also... and try the curve.

also the battery life sucks! i have it on standby when not in use and i hardly get one day... and forget it if i want to talk on the phone...

Your Verizon tech only knows half the story... and you will have the same memory leak issues with the 8330 without proper maintenance of the memory.

When you say you are only using 20% of your memory, what in numbers does that mean? Look at Options > Status. What is the file free number, before you pull the battery and reboot?

For the battery, look at this link... Maximum Battery Life - BlackBerryFAQ

This is a simple fix. You're probably taking pictures and storing to device memory instead of media card. Purchase an 8GB media card from Micro Center for $20, set your camera options to save to media card instead of device memory, clean up existing pictures on device memory (or move them to media card), and bang...problem solved Just did it on my sister's Pearl and she is free from the twice weekly hard reset.

You really needed to wake up a 7 month old dead thread for this?

You have too much time on your hands. I'm trying to help someone solve a problem, whereas you're just trying to be an a-hole.
