Default OS for BB8100

I downloaded the software for BB8100 from 8100M_PBr4.2.1_rel168_PL2.3.0.82_A4.2.1.103_Vodafo ne_UK. On installation the desktop manager does not seem to open. When the device is connected to the desktop PC, it is displayed as another external drive and does not open. Can someone please help.

Make sure you delete the vendor.xml file. Search in c:\program files\common files\research in motion

also make sure you install the EXE file after downloading it. then delete the vendor.xml as listed above. welcome to the forums.

Hold on, you've downloaded the correct Operating System (OS) for your device. The Deskstop Manager is a different thing. You also have to download/install it. Is this what you were trying to accomplish?
