I have a blackberry pearl 8100 that is restarting. At first I figured it needed an OS reinstall. I have done that. I have also wiped it and then installed the OS. I have done this with success with other pearls many times, but this one is still restarting.

Upon investigation I have found that it doesn't restart when connected to the PC. So I changed the battery and it still restarts.

I did find that if I plug it back into the computer immediately after the red light comes on then it doesn't restart. The screen just flashes and then comes back to the same screen I was on. That is what made me think it was a short.

Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Is it still under warranty? If so, I would spend any more time troubleshooting.
