sms - short messaging system. you can send the text to and it will send as an email. same with SMS. other than that, you are pretty much trying to scam the carrier, they tend to look down on that.

SMS = Short Message Service.

It is not free... you must have the service purchased from your carrier.

But the user must still have a qualifying voice plan or similar in service from the carrier... so free only to the extent that you pay for it in your servcie plan, even if only in a voice plan.

well the receiving user has to have the plan to receive it free. To send the way i described is sent as an email from the BlackBerry.

Basically NO. Nothing is free :P. You must pay in some way or another. I know people whose email is their phone number@their service provider. com/net/org/w/e haha. But still, they pay for unlimited messaging, or e-mail ... I forget... I just use e-mail most of the time faster! And it NEVER gets lost xD hehe.
