Default Watch films in REAL Fullscreen?

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my 4gb memory card for my BB 8100 and I converted a copy of Scarface to my cell and it works properly, but I was wondering if there's a program that'll let me watch the film in fullscreen. When I mean full screen I mean the ENTIRE screen (including where the play/stop/volume are located on the default player)?

Thanks for any replies.

While the video is playing, can you tap menu > full screen?

I am looking at the player for the 8800: there is no full screen option in Menu (tapped when video is playing as recommended). Am i missing something?

Edit: I am sorry. I had done a search on full screen video and did not realise that this was a device specific thread.

If I'm not mistaken, OS 4.5 will have that option. Until then, were stuck with seeing the Time, Battery, and MP Controls.

Even w/the update it won't be "real" full screen as in full top-to-bottom.

You can get full side-to-side, but will have black bars (of various size, depending on your aspect ratio) on top and bottom.

Yeah, that's what I don't get. I see that the "demo video" can be completely full screen, but when I download or encode a video to play on my Blackberry (Both on Curve and on Pearl) it has black bars on sides and top and bottom. Very annoying.

Thank you so much, actually on that page,

"Windows Media Video is supported in BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 and later."

That's all we needed to know, we really don't need anything other than Windows Movie Maker, than.. Thanks again! I will try this.

the black bars are the letterbox, if those werent there it would be panned and scanned, meanind you would miss the sides of the movie. they play panned and scaned on TV most of the time but as a movie lover i prefer the black bars. but if you used the v aspect ratios it would still be letter boxed bacause a tv is still wider than taller unlike a blackberry pearl screen. the movie would have to be formatted tor the dementions of your screen witch i dont think is going to happen. not to mention you would miss most of the movie. uless you had some program to strech the movie but everyone would look tall and skinny.
