I have had the same problem ever since I purchased my 8120.
Blackberrt are aware of the problem and are supposed to be working on a software update or patch.sorry I can be the bearer of good news.

I've had a 7100t and 8830, with no problems. I switched to the Pearl 8120 on ATT and now I cannot get my Calendar syncing properly.
I have it set up for 2 way sync, only future items. I do not have a BES; I sync thru USB. I sync only with Outlook. When I sync all my calendar items in Outlook get added to my handheld, even though they are already there. It happens every time. So, I can end up with 3, 4, or 5 of the same item, if I just kept syncing.
I've cleared my calendar databases on my handheld, then resynced. When I immediately resynced a second time--just to check, it wanted to duplicate again. It should have said there were no differences. My contacts, memo pad, and tasks all work fine.
